In Overland package, you will travel by Luxury AC Coach at Tibet side. The whole group must arrive Kathmandu by their selected arrival date. We will have briefing and Q&A session during evening of arrival date. Next day we will depart for Kailash Tour. You will arrive back to Kathmandu after 13 nights / 14 days.

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival

Your Arrival Time – Airport pickup and transfer to your Hotel.
07:00PM – A short briefing about Kailash Mansarovar Yatra before dinner
Meal: Dinner Only at Hotel
Hotel: 3 Star Hotel – Mahadev Hotel, Tibet hotel or similar

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing
10:00 AM – After Breakfast – Full day sightseeing of Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Jal Narayan Temple.
Packing and preparation for the trip
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Hotel: 3 Star Hotel – Mahadev Hotel, Tibet hotel or similar

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche or Syabrubesi
Drive to Dhunche (2000m / 130 km / 6 hrs) or Syabrubesi (1600m / 145 km / 6.5 hrs). Overnight stay Lodge.

Day 04: Drive to Kyirong County
Drive to Rasuwagadhi (1800m / 15 km / 45 min from Syabrubesi), then complete immigration & custom formalities in Nepal & Tibet side at Rasuwagadhi, and then continue further drive to Kyirong county (3950m) – 3 hrs / 105 km. Overnight stay Guesthouse

Day 05: At Kyirong County – Rest Day
All Day – Entire day free for acclimatization. Short treks will be taken in preparation for the Kailash Yatra.
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 06: Drive to Dongba
09:00 AM – After Breakfast – Drive to Dongba (335 km – 7hrs) en-route passing Thorong La, Paigu-Tso Lake and Brahmaputra River.
Meal: Breakfast at Nyalam, Packed Lunch and Dinner at Dongba
Hotel: Xixa pangma, Mu bing Chung or similar.

Day 07: Drive from Dongba to Mansarovar Lake
08:00 AM – Drive towards Mansarovar Lake (7hrs) crossing beautiful places and stay at the shore of the Lake. Fill spiritual water.Parikrama of Mansarovar Lake by vehicle (2 hrs-110 km)
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 08: Drive to Darchen
Most of the day – Take holy bath and perform Puja (prayer ritual) at MansarovarLake
04:00 PM – Drive to Darchen (2hrs)
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Hotel: Mansarovar Lake Side Lodge.

Day 09: First Day of Outer Kora – Trek to Dirapuk
10:00AM – After short drive, we will reach Tarboche and visit Yama Dwar. This is starting point for Kora. We will trek to Dirapuk (4860 m) which is 12 kms trek (5-6 hrs). You will visit North face of Mt. Kailash and touching the feet of Mt. Kailash (Charan Sparsh). Travelers who do not want to trek around (Parikrama) Kailash can go back to Darchen and wait for rest of the group to arrive from Parikrama.
Meal: Breakfast at Mansarovar, Lunch & Dinner at Mansarovar OR on the way during Parikrama
Hotel: Mansarovar Lake Side Lodge OR Mud house on the way during Parikrama

Day 10: Second Day of Outer Kora – On to Zuthulphuk with Trek to Dolma La Pass
07:00AM – Trek from Dirapuk to Dolma La Pass and proceed to Zuthulpuk (22 km trek for 7-8 hours trek). This is the most difficult journey throughout the yatra since you have to trek up to the 18,600 ft. From descend to Gaurikund and further trek along with the river to Zuthul-puk.
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Hotel:  Stay at the Lodge (Zuthul-puk)
NOTE: If you are not doing Parikrama, then you will still be waiting at Darchen

Day 11: Drive to Dongba
08:00AM – After short Trek (2 hrs) and reach to the point where the coach will be waiting and we will drive to Darchen and merge with other members who were waiting and drive to Dongba
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Hotel: Xixa pangma, Mu bing Chung or similar

Day 12: Drive back to Kyirong
Back journey, drive to Kyirong County – 270 km / 5.5 hrs. Overnight stay at Guesthouse

Day 13: Drive to Kathmandu
Drive back to Kathmandu via Rasuwagadhi border completing immigration formalities – around 8-10 hr / 265 km.
Hotel: 3 Star Hotel – Mahadev Hotel, Tibet hotel or similar


Day 14: Kathmandu Sightseeing (Half Day) and Drive to Pokhara (En-route Manakamana Cable Car) – Overnight in Pokhara

After Breakfast – Visit Pashupatinath Temple.
10:00AM – Visit to Swayambhunath Stupa (spend 1 hr)
11:00AM – Drive to Pokhara (200 km – 6 hrs). En-route you can visit Manakamana Temple through Cable Car – Extra Cost of Cable Car ticket is INR 500 per person paid directly at the station. This ride gives breathtaking views of Hills, Mountains, forests, little farming villages and the ride through the clouds.


Day 15: Fly to Jomsom (2700 m) & drive to Muktinath Temple (3800 m) – Overnight in Jomsom
Early Morning – Transfer to Airport & fly to Jomsom – 25 minutes.
Arrival at Jomsom Airport and walk to hotel – 5 minutes from Airport
– After short break – walk to jeep stand (10-15mins) and drive to Muktinath (20 kms – 2-3 hrs). On the way you can enjoy see the scenery of nature beauty places, George of Gandaki river, Monastery & Kagbeni.
– Arrival at Ranipauwa (3710 m) and walk to Muktinath temple (40 min) where you will have holy bath on 108 waterspouts name of “Muktidhara” and in front of temple there is 2 kunda known as Muktikunda. After darshan, walk to Jwalamai Temple – continuously burning flame and walk back to Ranipauwa.
Drive back to Jomsom by Jeep (2-3 hrs) and walk back to hotel.


Day 16: Fly back to Pokhara & Pokhara Sightseeing (Full day) – Overnight in Pokhara
Early Morning: Transfer to Jomsom Airport for flight to Pokhara.
After short break – we will go for Pokhara sightseeing where you will visit following:
Bindhyabasini TempleDavis Fall, Seti River Gorge, Gupteshwor Cave, Barahi TempleFewa Lake


Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu – Overnight in Kathmandu
Early Morning: Drive to Sarangkot – hill station from where you will see the Mt Fishtail, Mt Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Mt Annapurna and other mountain ranges.
After Breakfast – Drive to Kathmandu


Day 18: Transfer to Kathmandu Airport

Bramandh Rudraksha and certificate of completion will be provided as a gift fromKailash Journeys. You will be free till your flight time. We will drop you at Airport 1-2 hour before flight time (30 min drive).

Personal travel insurance is not included in the trip price. It is a condition of booking a trip with Kailash Journeys (P) Ltd., and your own responsibility to ensure that you are adequately insured for the full duration of the trip.

 Cancellation Policy

The cancellation will take effect subject to the following:

  1. 90-150 days prior to departure date: full payment refund except non-refundable deposit:
  2. 30-90 days prior to departure date: 75% of your payment refund except the non-refundable deposit.
  3. If cancellation takes place less than 30 days prior to departure due to client’s personal problems, all previously paid amount(s) will be forfeited.

All the additional night cost will be INR 2,000/- for Indian National and U$ 50.00 for NRI  or Foreigners.

Ø  Personal expenses, tips and donations, insurance against loss of baggage, flight pre-pond and postponement expenses, damage of valuables, theft of personal items/belongings, medical expenses in case of accident and helicopter expenses for emergency evacuation.


As you know, the journey to Tibet (Kailash Mansarover Yatra) is not like a regular tour. Although we have to pay in full before permit received for your services to the Tibet agents as they monopolize as for the demand & we have to follow as per them. So we are just trying to give you an outline of unexpected situation you might drive in during the tour as below:

Accommodation– Considering frequent weather change and flight cancellation, accommodation cannot be fully confirmed , hence all the accommodation will be first come first serve basis.


1.   All accommodation except in Kathmandu and Dongba will have dormitory type  of accommodation. No twin / triple sharing room will be available.

2.   Except above places ( Kathmandu and Dongba) toilets are mostly open type, so please don’t expect attached comfort toilets.

3.   Drivers of the coaches might not be up to mark like in Nepal, service wise. Can face language problem, so only co-ordinate with the tour guide.

4.   It is advisable to carry your own important belonging things and valuable with you on your hand baggage.

5.   The whole tour operation while in Tibet is to be followed as per the IPSC (Tibet Govt. permit agents) & in case of any unavailability of committed services they won’t refund any of the paid amount for this journey.


6.   Our honest effort will be there to manage your accommodation as best as possible at all the places. We will try to provide you 3 star accommodation on triple sharing basis at Hotel Himalaya in Darchen- Base camp of Holy Mount Kailash. Due to any reason if you can’t participate on Mount Kailash parikrama and have to stay at hotel Himalaya in Darchen, you need to pay the  difference amount of lodges accommodation at Derapuk and Zuthulpuk and hotel Himalaya which will be Uyan 40.00 per person per night. Else we can provide basic guesthouse similar to Dirapuk and Zuthulpuk without any extra charge. In such a case, you have to walk to hotel Himalaya for meals- breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea/coffees/ cookies since our kitchen set up will be at Hotel Himalaya only.


7.   Please exchange your currency in to Chinese currencies (YEN) in your country or in Taklakot , Tibet China. Our Yatra manager may help you to find a reliable exchanger/ Bank at Taklakot for you. You may check rates and do bargain with the exchanger. The final responsibility will be yours.

For your kind information:

a.   Any damage or loss of down jacket (INR 3000.00/U$ 50.00) will be charged.

b.   No room services will be done except sick or illness.

c.   Any kind of loss or theft of your personal belongings, Templeyatri will not be responsible.

d.   Rescue & Evacuation insurance is not covered on the payable cost. We advice you to insure it in your country if essential.

e.   You are requested:

i.    In case of any problem, please clarify & take the suggestion from the team leader.

ii.    Don’t try to handle the problems or unexpected situation by yourself.

iii.    Ignore the sudden out bursts of fellow pilgrims and avoid arguments to any of staffs, as its normal for high altitude climate.

14.    In – case of early return

A.           As mentioned above, in case of early return Chinese Government or service provider (IPSC) have no any refund system on unutilized services.  We have to pay full and final payment here in Kathmandu before group departure from Kathmandu.   If clients have to return due to any reason/ health / family etc. even on the same day of entry into China, they do not refund any amount.  Hence any extra day in Nepal (More than as stated in the itinerary) have to bear extra cost INR 2000/- for Indian national U$ 50.00 for non Indian per night per person on MAP based on 3 to 4 star hotel. In case of International 5 star hotel like soaltee Crown plaza / Radission  the additional night cost in Kathmandu will be INR 4,000/- for Indian national and U$ 80.00 for NRI / Foreigners.


B.           Beside above accommodation expenses all the other return expenses as – visa split charge, vehicle & driver expenses, Helicopter chartered, flight fare and all the other expenses may incur during return journey which  shall be paid directly by the yatries.

Approximate Extra Costs

A.           We suggest you to buy portable oxygen for short time/temporary use in case of emergency which cost approx Yuan 15-20 per small bottle.

B.           Horse/ pony and porter hire for three days will be 2,650 Yuan, but sometimes it may goes Yuan 100/ 200 high.

C.           In case you are unable to complete parikrama and have to return from Dirapuk, all the evacuation cost from the Derapuk to Yamdwar and Yamadwar to Darchen will be your own which may cost you Yuan 500 –1000 with Jeep ( on reserve basis)

D.          Your personal expenses-drinks, dry foods, personal porters, tipping etc.


The Following Clothing & Equipments are suggested:

We request all the yatries to travel light which help to save the extra expenses and problem to carry luggage in high altitude where limited people will be available to carry your laggage. Maximum 3 to 4 pair of normal clothing, 6 pairs of soaks and inner garment, 2 to 3 set of Tharmal were and 1 to 2 set of warm clothing will be enouph for you.  The details of clothing requirement is given below:

A.           Pure wool and thick cotton socks. ( 3-4 pairs)

B.           Wool pullovers-Polo neck

C.           Warm light gloves, Snowcap (with ear covering)

D.          Cotton undergarments(5-6 pairs)

E.           Towels- including small hand towel.

F.           Hot and cold water bottle.

G.          Keds/Boots: Very light, skid proof, water resistant·

H.          Light trek bag (for camera and very essential things)- Templeyatri will provide.

J.            Cap  (Sun, snow, rain protection).

Health pre-caution:

D.          Strictly avoid alcohol, tobacco and other depressant drugs like sleeping pills Certain medications like acetazolamide, dexamethasone  etc act as prophylaxis.


Limitation of Weight( Wight control):

Please be noted that you are allowed to carry maximum 10 kg check in baggage and 5 Kg hand carry or Total 15 kg wight while travelling in Nepalgunj/ Simikot/ Nepalgunj and Simikot / Hilsa / Simikot route. Any extra wait will be charged INR 1,500/- per kg or equivalent.
